WHO WE ARE

Savayra Foundation UK is a UK registered women’s education social development and empowerment charity working in Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. The charity aims to empower widows, divorcees, orphan girls and other financially destitute women through skills, education and other poverty relief programmes.

Established in 2002, Savayra Foundation UK has been supporting lasting economic and social development in deprived areas of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. Since 2002 the Savayra Foundation UK has journeyed from a small aid organisation to a focus on trade and economic self sufficiency for the communities in which it is engaged.

SAVAYRA SHOPPER BAG

Savayra Foundation aims to skill train and empower marginalised and destitute women through sustainable income programs. The shopper Artisan Bag project aims to do that. Amazing things happen when women help women.

In collaboration With Alif studios THE SHOPPER BY SAVAYRA is a project inspired by women, funded by women, designed by women and made by women. The shopper is made using the ancient art of wooden block printing a method of textile making traditionally practised by men.

THE SALON @ SAVAYRA

Savayra Foundation and Glam Street International partnered to empower rural women in Pakistan by offering professional beautician training for economic independence. Participants received 10 weeks of training in Islamabad and were provided with a fully equipped beauty salon in their village for job opportunities, breaking the cycle of poverty. This is just one of the many ways Savayra Foundation empowers women.

SKILLS CENTRES

In Pakistan and Azad Kashmir women are often divorced or widowed at an early age but at a time when it’s too late to gain a school education. Sadly the only option usually available is domestic work or sweat shops which can make them vulnerable to abuse.

SAVAYRA SHOPS

In 2006 the first Savayra Charity Shop was established in chowk pandori, district Rawalpindi. This shop sold items made by the women in the skills centre and other feminine products not available in the local rural area.

The shop has been relocated to Savayra’s main Skill Center near Bewal. All profits are ploughed back into the skills centers with the women receiving a profit share on all items they produce.

The Savayra Shop is the first of its kind based in Bewal..

RIKSHAWS EMPLOYMENT

The Rickshaw project is one of the Ventures of savayra Foundation UK working for people with long term unemployment.

The Rickshaw project was born as a solution for creating employment opportunities and help establish a platform through which families are made self sufficient and sustainable

With support and contribution the project now has 11 rickshaws operating in the Gujar Khan area.

WATER COOLERS

Since 2002 Savayra Foundation UK has installed 25 electric water coolers mainly in state schools giving students access to clean cool drinking water.

Your donations will enable Savayra Foundation UK to install water coolers in schools in deprived areas of Pakistan & Kashmir so that young pupils have access to cold water during the hot summers.

AMBULANCE SERVICE

Savayra Foundation is proud to have their first Ambulance Service in operation in Gujar Khan and Bewal area..

Safdar Hussain Butt from UK visited Savayra Foundation operations in Bewal Pakistan to donate the ambulance to SFUK. Safdar Butt handed over the key of the ambulance to Savayra Foundation UK officials and expressed the hope that this modern ambulance would be used for patients and provide a valuable service for those in need.
